The American standard


The American standard provides for a height at the withers ranging from 58 to 61 centimetres for adult
males while it ranges between 54 and 57 for adult females.
The weight varies between 29 and 34 kg for adult males, while between 25 and 29 kg for adult females.
The trait of The American golden retriever are his narrow and oblique cut of eyes, with medium-sized ears placed slightly higher than eye level. The skull is narrow and tapered.
The coat is more voluminous than the English line, it must be full-bodied and thick, resistant, smooth and adherent to the body. It is thick and abundant especially in the chest, in the back of the legs and feathered in the tail.
The shape of the chest turns out to be deeper than the English line.
